No. SOSMail works with Gmail, Microsoft/Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, and any email service that supports IMAP and SMTP. Gmail and Microsoft accounts get one-click OAuth2 sign-in — no app passwords needed.
How does the Gmail/Microsoft sign-in work?
SOSMail uses OAuth2 for Gmail and Microsoft accounts. Click "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Microsoft", authorize in your browser, and you are connected. No app passwords or manual server settings required.
How do I get updates?
SOSMail updates automatically. When a new version is available, it downloads and installs in the background — no action needed.
Is there a Mac version?
A macOS version is coming soon. Currently SOSMail is available for Windows 10/11 and Linux.
What Linux formats are supported?
SOSMail is distributed as an AppImage, which runs on most Linux distributions without installation. Just download, make executable, and run.
Is my data secure?
Yes. SOSMail stores all credentials and OAuth2 tokens with encryption on your local machine. Email syncs in the background over encrypted connections. No data is sent to third parties.
Does it have a calendar?
